Shelter Options

In emergency situations, DAIC provides up to 3 days of shelter in town for clients that meet the center’s criteria.  DAIC also has referral access to long-term domestic violence shelters throughout New Mexico.

Long-term Emergency Shelter programs offer housing, food, clothing, support and resources for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Emergency Shelter is a communal living environment.  They also provide legal assistance, support and counseling, referrals to other community resources, and access to medical and social services. Residents receive individual case management and assist one another through resident support groups. Special programming is available for children whose parents use the shelter program.
